ANW2 - Khan BMS Battlefield Management System

Working notes on ANW2 (ANW2 Adaptive Networking Wideband Waveform): cca protocols context, design trade-offs, and where it fits in the Arban–Tumen hierarchy.

ANW2 is plumbing. The good kind — invisible when it works, catastrophic when it doesn't, and almost never the line item that gets the budget.

Definitions first. ANW2 = ANW2 Adaptive Networking Wideband Waveform. Commercial-derivative wideband MANET waveform widely fielded by U.S. forces. ANW2 is a wideband MANET waveform developed by Harris (now L3Harris) and adopted across U.S. and allied tactical radios. It provides IP services, voice, and video over a self-forming mesh and is broadly compatible with PRC-117G, PRC-152A, and similar radios that frequently appear in CCA ground segments.

ANW2 earns its full keep at the Tumen — ten thousand nodes under a single human Khan. Span of control stays at ten because the hierarchy is fractal; ANW2 state aggregates upward through Minghan and Zuun before it ever reaches the Khan's console.

If ANW2 matters to your formation, the integration question is not whether to support it. It is how cleanly the rest of your stack survives when it is the only thing still working.
