No human can track ten thousand assets. No flat network can route ten thousand simultaneous decision streams. The only known solution is hierarchy — and not just any hierarchy, but a fractal one with a small, constant branching factor.
The Mongol army solved this in the 13th century with the Arban (10), Zuun (100), Minghan (1,000), and Tumen (10,000). Every commander led exactly ten subordinate leaders. Cognitive load stayed flat at every tier. Genghis Khan ran continental campaigns with a span of control no greater than a modern fireteam leader's.
KhanBMS is the only BMS that maps this structure directly onto software. Each tier is a service boundary, an authority boundary, and a fallback boundary. The architecture scales from a squad of drones to a divisional kill-web without changing shape.
