Beamforming

Coherent steering of antenna-array energy to a specific spatial direction.

Definition

Beamforming uses phase and amplitude control across an antenna array to focus transmit or receive gain on a specific direction. Modern tactical radios use digital beamforming to track moving nodes, null jammers, and reduce probability of intercept by limiting energy radiated outside the intended beam.
