Destination-Sequenced Distance-Vector/ DSDV

Proactive distance-vector protocol with sequence numbers to prevent routing loops.

Definition

DSDV is a proactive distance-vector routing protocol that tags each route with a destination-issued sequence number, so that nodes can identify stale information and avoid loops. It is primarily of historical and pedagogical importance, but informs many later MANET designs.
