Leader Election

Distributed primitive for selecting a single coordinator among peers.

Definition

Leader election protocols (bully, ring, Raft-style) let a swarm pick a coordinator deterministically after partition or loss. In Arban-class clusters, leader election allows the surviving members to re-quorum and continue mission execution without an external controller, and is foundational to decimal-command self-healing.
