Integrated Tactical Network/ ITN
Army initiative blending purpose-built and commercial networking at the tactical edge.
Definition
The Integrated Tactical Network combines purpose-built waveforms, commercial cellular, low-Earth-orbit SATCOM, and mesh radios into a single transport layer for the maneuver brigade. ITN's design principle is that no single bearer is reliable in contested conditions, so applications must run over a heterogeneous, policy-managed fabric.
